How to Replace your old phone system with a new sip phone.
Do you know you can replace the old telephone system in your house with a complete new technology called voip ?
Where do you start?
If you already have a phone in your house/apartment and you want to cancel, you may want to keep the wiring.
If you have already internet, the only thing you need to buy is an ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) that will connect the internet with your regular telephone device.
Then of course you will need an Ethernet cable and a free Ethernet slot to connect your ATA to your Internet.
How is best to do?
If you have a house and the telephone line is entering in the basement, you can cut the lines there if you are close to the Internet gateway. You will place the ATA there, connect to the Internet and put the existing wires into the ATA phone line slot. This whey you will have traditional "signal" in your house for all your (existing) phones
If you have DSL:
If you connect to the Internet using dsl then you will need the telephone line for that right? But you can place the modem where the phone lines enters the house, interrupt the connection with the rest of the house, put the ATA device in between and here you go, you just transformed your wired house into an ip telephony wired house and you can enjoy all the benefit of sip telephony like cheap (or free) calls, local or international, free caller id, voicemail, etc.
